The Russian-Indian economic cooperation has long history and the construction of Kudankulam NPP is a vivid example of this partnership. However, Russia must not forget that the United States and France are showing high interest in the Indian nuclear market. One more point is the IAEA’s restrictions on this market.
In this light, Russia’s compliance with the Kudankulam contract (as you may know we have supplied 100% of fuel, 83% of equipment and 98% of project documentation) is strengthening our competitiveness. In their turn, our Indian colleagues are showing enviable persistence: they are building the plant themselves even though they might have ordered a “turnkey” project. I am sure that we must use all of our capacities for deepening our cooperation with India in nuclear and other sectors.
