Russia and India have signed an agreement for the construction of four more reactors at Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant and for cooperation at other sites. The agreement was signed in New Delhi during the official visit of President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev to India.
The agreement signed by Russia and India in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy is logical continuation of the Soviet-Indian long and fruitful partnership in this sphere.
After the lifting of restrictions from India – due to the joint efforts of the United States and Russia – some people expressed concern that Delhi might prefer the United States. But now that the agreement is signed, it has become clear that Delhi gives priority to its cooperation with Moscow.
