– Russia and Argentina are mutually interested in their nuclear cooperation

Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation and the Ministry of Federal Planning, State Investments and Services of Argentina have signed a statement on cooperation in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy.

The statement was signed by Deputy Director General of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation Nikolay Spassky and Minister of Federal Planning, State Investments and Services of Argentina Julio de Vido in the presence of President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev and President of Argentina Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner

Russia and Argentina are mutually interested in their nuclear cooperation. Our country has unique technologies in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy and is interested in using them. Argentina needs ecologically friendly energy sources, which would solve not only its energy supply and energy security problems but would also help it to preserve its environment. Argentina imports energy resources and construction of gas-fueled plants would be a costly enterprise while NPPs are a source of cheap and safe energy.
