– Our key task for the moment is not to lose momentum in building new reactors

Established in the summer 2007, Atomenergprom OJSC is now summing up the results of its first year. The company has been developing against the background of the large-scale reformation of the nuclear sector. The holding is supposed to consolidate the efforts of all civilian nuclear companies in order to effectively implement the large-scale NPP construction program and to promote Russian high technologies on the international market.

The key result of the efforts of Rosatom in 2008 is the launch of construction on five sites in Russia as well as the decision to build two NPPs in additional two the ones specified in the general scheme – Baltic and Nizhniy Novgorod NPPs. Our key task for the moment is not to lose momentum in building new reactors and to finish all the projects in time despite crisis.

Among other important achievements are cooperation agreements with India. Due to foreign contracts we have preserved our scientific, industrial and human capacities. Now, foreign contracts are expected to strengthen our positions on the international market. Some of our fuel contracts pave the way for long-term cooperation with the countries operating nuclear reactors of Russian design.
