Established in the summer 2007, Atomenergprom OJSC is now summing up the results of its first year. The company has been developing against the background of the large-scale reformation of the nuclear sector. The holding is supposed to consolidate the efforts of all civilian nuclear companies in order to effectively implement the large-scale NPP construction program and to promote Russian high technologies on the international market.
Recently many European countries have announced plans to develop nuclear energy as, on the one hand, stable export requires more electricity and, on the other hand, nuclear energy is considered to be a good way to ensure secure energy supplies.
More and more European countries are beginning to develop nuclear energy cooperation with Russia as Russia is a very important energy supplier on the world and European markets.
Russian companies differ from European ones in terms of competitiveness standards and technological level. There is also difference in reactor production standards and technologies. However, Russia can act, primarily, as a supplier of nuclear energy. As regards the prospects of cooperation, everything will depend on specific terms.
