Established in the summer 2007, Atomenergprom OJSC is now summing up the results of its first year. The company has been developing against the background of the large-scale reformation of the nuclear sector. The holding is supposed to consolidate the efforts of all civilian nuclear companies in order to effectively implement the large-scale NPP construction program and to promote Russian high technologies on the international market.
The past year was not easy for each of us, for our state and for the world community, as a whole. The global financial-economic crisis has generated lots of problems. This does not mean however that we have had no positive events. The agreements reached by Rosatom and the Government of Russia for cooperation with partners in Asia, Europe and Latin America are the results of hard and consistent work. We have normal plans for the short- and medium-term future in the fields of engineering, construction and supply. So, I think that we have not lost our positions on the market; on the contrary, we have strengthened them. It seems that the nuclear sector is the only industry that has worked well on the international are this year. We have laid a firm basis for future development and will hopefully see tangible results in 2009.
Rosatom has carried out effective measures to finish its unfinished projects, to improve the efficiency of its work and to replenish its resources.
This year was not bad for the industry. I think that the nuclear sector has all capacities for overcoming the crisis with minimum losses. Despite crisis we will fulfill our plans in such big countries as China and India as well as in the countries that have expressed commitment to cooperate in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy.
