– Public auctions are an effective way to procure equipment

The tender committee for the selection of equipment suppliers for the 4th unit of Kalinin Nuclear Power Plant has held its first meeting in the framework of the “Fair of Nuclear Power Plant Construction.” The committee examined the offers of the participants in the second stage of the tender. The final decision will made within 10 days.

It is the second time that we are taking part in the “Fair of Nuclear Power Plant Construction.” At this fair we have offered lots to organizations wishing to take part in the deliveries of equipment to Novovoronezh NPP-2. This year the tender was preceded by a pre-qualification. The preliminary round took place in Moscow and, today, we have invited the companies that have qualified for the final, the companies whose equipment complies with the parameters stipulated by the project. Today, they have presented their prices.

Tough requirements guarantee that only highly efficient organizations with high-quality services are taking part in the tender. In fact, only two organizations have qualified for the final. The others have been all screened out.

This fair fosters high competition, which, it its turn, helps to reduce the prices. However, price is not the only component of the offer: we also consider deadlines and warranty liabilities. We will continue to take part in this fair as public auctions are a very effective way to procure equipment.
