– Today OMZ-Izhorskiye Zavody is the monopoly producer of complexes for nuclear power plants

On June 2 Prime Minister of Russia Vladimir Putin visited St.Petersburg and Izhorskiye Zavody. He familiarized himself with the course of the complex modernization and enlargement program implemented by OMZ since 2007 and worth almost 11bln RUR. The program envisages the production of four units a year. The first stage of the modernization program is the construction of steel-smelting complex DSP-120, one of the biggest steel-smelting complexes in Russia.

Today, OMZ-Izhorskiye Zavody is the monopoly producer of complexes for nuclear power plants and support of it is the Government’s strategic task for in the context of the program to enlarge its capacities. Rosatom and OMZ constitute a mutually beneficial symbiosis.

OMZ-Izhorskiye Zavody have sufficient capacities for the production of equipment for thermal power plants, however, they have certain financial restrictions and Rosatom with its stable investment program can give necessary stability.
