– Construction of NPP will ensure energy security of the region and its industrial center, Kaliningrad, for the next half century

Baltic Nuclear Power Plant will be built in the north-east of Kaliningrad region. The 1st unit will be launched in 2016. Almost 5bln RUR will be invested in this project. Baltic NPP will be built by companies incorporated into Atomenergoprom OJSC.

The construction of NPP will ensure the energy security of the region and its industrial center, Kaliningrad, for the next half century. Access to a stable source of energy will be one of the key factors ensuring our competitive advantage in the struggle for investments.

As soon as the region gets a nuclear power plant it will no longer need transit of fuel and will no longer have to worry about tariff wars.

Baltic NPP will boost the region’s economic growth. It will give jobs to our research and development organizations and will stimulate venture business. People will get new jobs, the budget will get revenues. The city will be able to enlarge its municipal order and to develop business.

The high standards of the nuclear industry will require serious modernization of the equipment of related enterprises and will consequently improve the quality of the products released by the region.
