– Nuclear industry can enhance Russia’s export potential on foreign markets

Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation and the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam have signed a memorandum of intention to cooperate in the framework of the national nuclear energy development program.

I would like to point out that the development of nuclear energy is one of the key priorities of our country.

Nuclear energy is one of the mechanisms of innovative development. Today, many experts say that we must diversify our economy and give it a new impulse. In think that nuclear energy can help us in the matter.

Nuclear energy can also enhance our export potential on foreign markets. We must stop our dependence on oil and gas resources. Nuclear energy can help us to transit from raw materials to new technologies.

Vietnam is our old partner. Many of the present Vietnamese leaders have studied in the USSR and Russia. So, their attention is quite logical. 

During a meeting of the Committee on Modernization and Technological Development of the Economy in Sarov on July 22 President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev said that all five national priorities in the field of economy modernization were related to nuclear energy.
