It is not the first time Rosatom is among the key beneficiaries of state financing (earlier Rosatom enjoyed the smallest reduction in investment program subsidies). It is obvious that the Government is paying special attention to the development of high-tech productions and innovations. The federal target program “Nuclear Power Technologies of New Generation in 2010–2015 and -2020” is part of this work. The state subsidies will total 110bln RUR, which is just 14% less than the level announced by Rosatom.
This is not a coincidence. The nuclear industry is one of the few Russian sectors retaining its leading positions in the world and the program will help to substantially improve the nuclear technologies and to ensure their competitiveness. However, competition is not the only problem the programs are supposed to solve.
Thus despite the crisis and curtailment of the budget, the nuclear industry will be able to fully implement its investment programs.
The program will cover both production and research. Priority will be given to research companies. Part of the investments will be spent on related, infrastructure and engineering companies.
