I think that Rosatom has really big chances in the Czech Republic as both Czech nuclear power plants are based on Soviet technologies.
But this case has also a political aspect. In exchange for the construction of nuclear reactors Russia may demand that the Czech Republic stop its cooperation under NATO missile program, particularly, refuse to provide its territory for NATO radar.
Earlier, a representative of Rosatom SC said that Rosatom will take part in the tender for the right to build two reactors in the Czech Republic, Director General of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation said during a press-conference. A survey held in the spring 2009 has shown that 77% of the Czechs support the enlargement of Temelin Nuclear Power Plant. Last autumn Vice Premier of Russia, Co-Chair of Russian-Czech Inter-Governmental Commission Alexander Zhukov said that Russia was interested in building new nuclear reactors in the Czech Republic, jointly with Czech companies. These projects would be part of Russian-Czech investment cooperation.
