Representatives of business circles of Finland and influential political forces want the government to decide on building one or more new nuclear power plants. One argument is that, once the economic crisis is over, industry in Finland will need more energy. Besides, nuclear power is regarded as clean energy because it doesn’t cause greenhouse gas emissions and this is important in terms of meeting the EU quotes and moving toward low-carbon economy. It is also argued that Finland needs more nuclear power to stop importing electricity
