— Establishing of the Fuel company will allow to create a single «fuel» chain from extraction of the uranium up to shipment of fuel elements to the customer
Rosatom State Corporation approved the decision to establish on the basis of JSC “TVEL” (a 100% subsidiary of ”Atomenergoprom”) the Fuel Company. This decision was made as the implementation of measures to restructure the Nuclear Power Industry in order to improve its efficiency.
In accordance with the decision, in the first phase, there will be implemented transfer to JSC “TVEL” shares of JSC “Combined company «separation-sublimating complex» ( «OK“ RSK , a 100%» subsidiary of JSC «Atomenergoprom“, consolidates 100% of shares of sublimatno-dividing plants – “Angarsk Electrolysis Chemical Works“,» PA «Electrochemical Plant», «Ural Electrochemical Plant» and JSC «Siberian Chemical Complex»).
In addition, to JSC “TVEL” there will be transferred 100% shares of JSC «Engineering Center“, “Russian gas centrifuges”, which integrates the enterprises of nuclear industry involved in the development and production of the major (gas centrifuges) and auxiliary equipment for the dividing enterprises — JSC» ,Vladimir Production association , «Tochmash“ JSC», «Kovrov Mechanical Plant » , JSC, «Design Bureau, Nizhny Novgorod , JSC» Centrotech SPb”, LLC «Novouralsk research and design center», LLC «Novouralsk Instrument-Making Plant», LLC «Ural Plant of gas centrifuges“ . Necessary corporate actions on establishing the Fuel company are scheduled to be implemented during the year 2010.
In accordance with the plan of top priority measures on establishing the fuel company, till the end of 2009 “TVEL JSC» will develop a draft concept for the development of the Fuel company and submit it for approval to the State Corporation «Rosatom» and “Atomenergoprom JSC”. “TVEL JSC « during November-December this year, conducts an audit of major enterprises, which will be transferred to it. In particular, on 9th -10th November, deputy director of “Atomenergoprom JSC” Vladislav Korogodin, president of “TVEL JSC „ Yuri Olenin and Director of JSC „OK“ RSK «Fedoseyev has visited JSC“ SHK «.

Creation of the Fuel company on the basis of JSC “TVEL” is a continuation of the policy of Rosatom on consolidation of nuclear assets, which will be of benefit to the company and the industry. Establishing of the Fuel company will allow to create a single „fuel“ chain from extraction of the uranium up to shipment of fuel elements to the customer.
Thus, the customer won’t need to deal with a number of various structures, trying to reconcile independently his desires with their capabilities. Now, it will be enough to appeal to the Fuel company with the parameters of your order, and after a while to get the finished product.
This way of working saves time and money of the customer, increases the efficiency of its activities, which in turn leads to increasing customer’s loyalty and to new orders from him. At the same time the companies of Rosatom which will enter in the Fuel company will benefit from this. Their organizational structure would be more optimal, because the customer will be communicated from a single center, and they (companies) will be able to concentrate on productive activities. The costs will be reduced, because all the necessary purchases will be made centrally, the efficiency of enterprises will be improved, the use of budgetary funds will be improved, there will be more opportunities for technological processes control, revenues of Rosatom and inpayments to the federal budget will be increased.
