Ivanyuk Viktor Nikolaevich, Deputy General Director of CJSC “Atomenergo”

— A floating APP, which includes reactor units, similar to the ship’s ones, that is adapted to the manoeuvring operation mode, can very quickly accumulate power and thus — to cover the peak load of the central power node of Kamchatka, seriously stabilizing the power system in the region and improving the quality of electrical supply of customers in whole. «

Ivanyuk Viktor Nikolaevich, Deputy Director General of CJSC “Atomenergo”:

— Prospects of the Kamchatka region in connection with the construction of the floating APP in Viluchinsk must be considered from different perspectives. First, it concerns not only supply with electricity but also, that is very important, it concerns the heat supply of facilities of the Defense Ministry and the population of the CATU. Secondly, in the long term one can talk about lowering tariffs on electric and thermal energy, as well as significant reducing of the region’s dependence on imported fuel. Thirdly, it is absolutely obvious opportunity to improve the quality of power supply of consumers of the central energy unit (CEU) in the Kamchatka region. «

Unfortunately, in the region so far there is no common understanding how to solve the energy problem. On the one hand, „Kamchatenergo“ states about energy surplus in the Kamchatka region. On the other hand, there are two serious problems that can not be wished away or pretend that they do not exist. The first problem relates to the decrepitude of equipment Heat Power Plant — replacing capacities are not availble. Several boilers located in the reserve, are over 30 years old, and how they will work — only God knows. The second problem is that all energy enterprises in the region, except for low-power hydro power plant, have been working in basic mode, i.e. it’s rather difficult to cover peak loads. A floating APP, which includes reactor units, similar to the ship’s ones, that is adapted to the manoeuvring operation mode, can very quickly accumulate power and thus — to cover the peak load of the central power node of Kamchatka, seriously stabilizing the power system in the region and improving the quality of electrical supply of customers in whole. „

'Therefore, the FAPP project, as I think, is quite profitable for JSC “Kamchatenergo“. And in this situation, we should talk not about competition, but about mutually beneficial partnership.
