Panchev Gennady Petrovich, Deputy Commander of the Joint Forces Group in the North-East of Russia:
— Nearly two decades Russia’s borders became bloodless — due to the dying industry, the outflow of natives to the central regions of our country. Today Kamchatka, which also a part of the boundary territories begins to develop. And development relates not only to military structures.
Basically the fishing industry, including processing, emerges from desolation. And for the development one needs new energy capacities. In Kamchatka they are not available. Construction of the floating APP in Vilyuchinsk would be a good solution. Our life will become more comfortable and reasonable. Someone could object me that with the development of civilization, there are appear problems with the environment. Unfortunately, the man is so created — no matter where he is, he affects the environment: in Chukotka, Siberia, in the central Black Earth Zone And this is not connected with nuclear power. One can easy make sure – one needs to analyze those disasters and emergencies that occur every day in the world. Over the last ten years, at least, no such accidents in the nuclear energy of Russia happened. So one should be happy that this project will be implemented here — this is a great success not only for natives of Vilyuchinsk, but for the Kamchatka region in whole as well.
