— In respect to the project of Nizhny Novgorod atomic power plant, we are sticking to the schedule for all planned activities. The project has undergone public consultations as per EIA and we are now proceeding with obtaining licenses.

In respect to the project of Nizhny Novgorod atomic power plant, we are sticking to the schedule for all planned activities. The project has undergone public consultations as per EIA and we are now proceeding with obtaining licenses. All developments, used in Atomic Energy, on scale of probabilities, describe the probability of accidents at the plant as impossible.. All processes in the reactor are absolutely controllable. In other words, all applicable protection systems, such as shell, trap active melt zone, make operation of the plant absolutely safe.

The situation in Nizhny Novgorod region is characterized by the fact that as soon as the positive consequences of nuclear power plants construction spread over the region administrative boundaries and then begin to spread to other areas, the number of opponents goes down.

The project of APP – 2006 itself, as per which there will be constructed the Nizhny Novgorod atomic power plant, is one of the safest all over the world.
