Alexander Shtok, Director of Due Diligence department of 2Ê Audit – Business Consultations ICG:

 — FNTPP will ensure the work of the companies in remote areas of the Arctic shelf as well as coastal fields, for example, of Yamal, Alaska.

Baltic Plant OJSC being a part of Consolidated Industrial Corporation (CIC) has launched the first power unit of the future floating nuclear thermal power plant (FNTPP). The floating power unit «Academician Lomonosov» was launched half year before the set time.

Alexander Shtok, Director of Due Diligence department of 2Ê Audit – Business Consultations ICG:

The potential sphere of FNTPP application is remote and hard-to-reach coastal regions. Using FNTPP Russia can improve its energy security.

Oil and gas companies actively exploring the shelf resources can be interested in the floating power plants project.

FNTPP will ensure the work of the companies in remote areas of the Arctic shelf as well as coastal fields, for example, of Yamal, Alaska.

The prospects of FNTPP serial production will be clear after analysis of the plant testing results. The first FNTPP cost is equal to almost 500 mln dollars. If FNTPP enter series production their cost will be lower. Additional advantage of floating nuclear thermal power plants is their mobility.

Upon the whole, it should be noted that a number of foreign states take interest in the project. Thus, in case of success FNTPP can become an exclusive product of Rosatom at the world market and ensure return of investments.
