 — Actively entering the international nuclear market Russia tries to consolidate one of the leading positions at the nuclear fuel and uranium market

On July 14 the Turkish parliament ratified the Russian-Turkish agreement on construction of the first NPP in the country. The agreement was signed on May 12, 2010 in Ankara. Russia and Turkey hereunder will cooperate in the field of construction and operation of the NPP in Akkuyu in south Mersin province. The future NPP capacity is expected to be 4800 mW that is equal to 14% of todays capacity generated by Turkey.

Anna Kupriyanova, Senior Analyst of Administration of Analytic Researches of LLC Uralsib Capital:

Actively entering the international nuclear market Russia tries to consolidate one of the leading positions at the nuclear fuel and uranium market which economically viable because the demand for nuclear fuel and uranium in the nearest future is going to increase by dozens of per cent due to construction of substantial quantity of nuclear power plants in the world. Besides, Russia (alongside with other countries the total number of which does not exceed 10) has unique uranium enrichment technologies. Thus, exploitation of this technological advantage is fully justifiable.
