 — Rosatom promotion in the international arena contributes to consolidation of Russian business image abroad as a whole.

On July 14 the Turkish parliament ratified the Russian-Turkish agreement on construction of the first NPP in the country. The agreement was signed on May 12, 2010 in Ankara. Russia and Turkey hereunder will cooperate in the field of construction and operation of the NPP in Akkuyu in south Mersin province. After entry of this agreement into effect the Russian party will start the creation of the project campaign. The future NPP capacity is expected to be 4800 mW that is equal to 14% of todays capacity generated by Turkey.

Alexander Ignatyuk, analyst of Energocapital Investment Group:

Active promotion by Rosatom State Corporation of its products at international markets must be regarded as the ordinary course of international economic globalization when partnership relations in the international arena are based on economical interaction rather than on political steps being upon the whole rather far from the market and determined by a simple formula: “concession-neutrality-pressure”.

As for Rosatom and its subsidiaries in the international arena, this problem certainly requires more careful consideration.

The “build and own” technology worked out in recent years implies not only temporary utilization of Russian technological, energy machine-building and processing complex capacities but creates conditions for placement of Russian enterprises service orders in the future.

Just as political steps create economic relations successful economic cooperation leads to liberalization of political interaction. In other words, Rosatom promotion in the international arena contributes to consolidation of Russian business image abroad as a whole.

The demonstrative example in this regard is cooperation with Turkish partners in nuclear power industry. Fast-growing Turkish economy has a chance to become an energy center of the region, the more so as nowadays the notion of energy center implies formation in the future of a new industrial and investment center.

On the other hand, Russia’s prestige as a new technologies provider is growing in the world and efficient work load of the industry contributes to economic prosperity.
