Andrey Klimov, Deputy Chairman of RF State Duma Committee on International Affairs:

 — The fact that Turkey prefers Russian technologies proves high competiveness of Russian nuclear power industry

Russia is actively extending construction of nuclear power units abroad. According to the Russian Government press-service, Head of Rosatom State Corporation Sergey Kirienko told this information to Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

Andrey Klimov, Deputy Chairman of RF State Duma Committee on International Affairs:

In his report to the Prime Minister, the Head of Rosatom concentrated on international projects of the nuclear power industry, because today the export of Russian nuclear technologies is one of the priority targets. And our success in this direction is evident.

Firstly, I would like to mention the project of NPP construction in Akkuya, Turkey. Having made the decision to develop the nuclear power industry, the Turks could not choose a partner for a long time, and the fact that they have decided on Russia is very positive.

In terms of economy and politics they have much closer relations with the EU rather than Russia; that is why their preference for Russian technologies proves high competiveness of Russian nuclear power industry.

Secondly, I would like to mention the agreement on NPP construction in Vietnam. As far as I know, at present the intergovernmental agreement between our countries is being negotiated, so, perhaps, it is a more or less closed issue.

Here I would like to note that the question is not only about the construction of the plant itself, but also about training of Vietnamese specialists, starting with higher education. The training of foreign students in accordance with the methods of Russian nuclear education promises a serious and long-term cooperation.
