— We, the specialists of nuclear industry, consider that there is no alternative to nuclear energy.

— It was the first time when the President paid special attention to the problems of nuclear industry development. In your opinion, what is the reason for it?

— We, the specialists of nuclear industry, consider that there is no alternative to nuclear energy. All the prerequisites for increasing development of nuclear energy in Russia are preserved. Great scientific and technical capacity and experience in the use of nuclear energy helps Russia to be a leading country in fundamental scientific investigations. These investigations turn our work into a basis of national safety.

— What is the reason that our President emphasized the renecessity of nuclear industry restructuring?

— The aim of restructuring is to move from survival towards development. We need the mechanism, the organization of the industry, and corporate cooperation of enterprises and specialists. We need real activities. The result is possible only if we start to invest. Today our institute decides its role and its part in the industry. We work on the tasks and projects. So, the restructuring for us is motivation for our activity.

— The President paid attention to the improvement of Russian machinery building positions in the world market. In your opinion, what should be the first steps, which will turn this task into life?

The search for new forms of international cooperation, new approaches to programming, search for new management methods will make an opportunity for the development and implementation of our potential, especially human resources — the training and development.
