No conceptual changes have been made in the bill on the nuclear power industry approved by the State Duma in the second reading today, says member of the State Duma Committee on Energy Transport and Communication
He says that 89 amendments were made during the second reading, of them 35 rejected and over 50 approved. The amendments were mostly about wordings and contained no conceptual changes.
One of the key amendments was about the Government’s annual reporting to the State Duma on the course of the reforms, which implies parliamentary control over the process. Another amendment specified three special educational institutions subject for privatization.
All the amendments were well formulated, that’s why, the second reading went off without problems.
To remind, today, the State Duma approved the second reading of the bill «On the Peculiarities of the Management of the Property and Shares of Organizations Using Nuclear Energy and On Relevant Changes in Some Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation.» 372 deputies voted «pro.»
The third reading is scheduled for Jan 19.
