Semyon Dragulsky, Director General of the Union of Energy Efficiency of Russia

— We will recommend the authorities of Yaroslavl region to start building NPP for covering their energy shortfall

“The future vertically-integrated company will deal with all problems of the nuclear power sector, including the very promising and economically expedient project for building small- and medium-capacity NPPs. Such plants are vital for the northern regions and Siberia. Besides, the development of the nuclear power industry will allow our country to save its precious energy resources, particularly, oil and gas. Atomenergoprom will have to tackle one more important problem – to inform the population to make it ready for a breakthrough in the nuclear power sector.

Atomenergoprom will cover the whole sphere of the nuclear energy use for civil purposes.

On Jan 21 the Union of Energy Efficiency, jointly with the authorities of Yaroslavl region, will hold a meeting of the working group for raising the energy efficiency of the region. During the meeting the Union is going to recommend the regional authorities to start building an NPP for covering the growing energy shortfall. “We are planning to address this proposal to Rosatom.”
