— We have never been so close to the completion of the 5th unit of Kursk NPP

We have never been as close to the completion of the 5th unit of Kursk NPP in the last 15–20 years as we are today. We believe that, after such a decision by the Committee, we will have an official government document by Mar 2007, i.e. the unit will be included in the General Scheme for Nuclear Facilities Deployment in Russia till 2010.

I would like to note once again that the Committee’s decision is a very important event. This is much more than half the work. The resumption of the project means almost 4,000 construction jobs, big financial inflows and taxes into the municipal and regional budgets.

The 5th unit means additional 25% capacities and equivalent inflows into the regional budgets.

The Federal Network Company has been instructed to build the network for the unit.
