On Feb 7 Sosnovy Bor (Leningrad region) will host public hearings of the materials on the ecological impacts of the construction and the operation of LNPP-2. A day before the hearings, President of the National Guild of Bankruptcy Trustees of Russia, ex MP, lawyer Yuri Kurin comments on the project.
The project will allow us to solve the problem of energy shortfall in the North-Western region of Russia. St. Petersburg and Leningrad region are experiencing economic growth, but, without necessary power capacities, this growth may stop. Besides, the project will allow us to export electricity to Skandinavia.
One more important point is that LNPP-2 will built under the innovative NPP-2006 project, which implies the use of the most efficient and up-to-date safety systems.
