— The designers of the LNPP-2 project should consider all sensible proposals

The designers of Leningrad NPP-2 should consider all sensible proposals on the project, the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Leningrad region from Sosnovy Bor Vadim Ryabov told a REGNUM correspondent on Feb 12. Ryabov believes that the public hearings of the project were successful and the authors of the project will consider all the sensible proposals made during the hearings and to be made afterwards.  

LNPP is located 80 km west of St. Petersburg on the coast of the Gulf of Finland in the town of Sosnovy Bor. The plant has four 1000 MW units. The first unit was launched in 1973, the last one in 1981.

As was reported earlier, the declaration on the financing of the LNPP-2 project was submitted to the Leningrad regional administration in Apr 2006. The objective of the financing is to replace the existing capacities of LNPP upon the expiry of their service periods.

The owner and the investor of the project is Rosenergoatom. According to the preliminary information, the area of the construction site is 110–130 h. The period of the construction is almost 8 years. The volume of expenses is 85bln RUR.
