– Nuclear technologies can be successfully used in medicine

Our nuclear power industry has many serious projects than can be used in medicine, especially in cancer treatment. Presently, a number of Russian scientists are studying radiotherapy as a way to fight cancer. This technology can be used for both diagnostics and treatment. Some scientists propose irradiating cancer patients in such a way as to prevent negative effects on their healthy cells; others suggest total rather than local irradiation but in small doses. I would like these technologies to be developed in Russia.

At the same time, I would like to note that there are lots of proposals for the use of nuclear technologies in medicine but there is no general strategy.
