Our large-scale NPP construction program must be based on existing capacities and Rosatom is gradually solving this problem.

Once there is a problematic situation you must find a way-out, every problem has a solution. Just remember Rosatom’s financial agreements with credit organizations and banks, joint NPP construction contracts with big Russian holdings.

The Atomenergomash-Alstom agreement is of the same kind: it will not only set up a JV producing unique technologies but will also give Russia access to France’s unique experience in low-speed turbine production.

Under the contract Alstom will provide Arabelle technology while Atomenergomash, through its ZiO-Podolsk plant, will contribute to the authorized capital a production site of 60,000 sq m. I hope that this partnership will successfully develop.

The JV’s products will be supplied to the NPPs that are being and will be built in Russia under the Federal Target Program “Development of the Nuclear Power Industry of Russia in 2007–2010 and -2015” and to Russian NPP projects abroad.
