– The launch of the 2nd unit of Tianwan NPP is a great achievement and a good basis for new Russian NPP projects abroad

The 2nd unit of Tianwan NPP has been commissioned. It is a historic achievement. The construction was not easy. When we won the right to complete the units we faced a number of serious problems. For example, we launched a boron control system (reactor water regime control system), but we had to fit it into the existing infrastructure. We had to understand what the project was about, to review our approaches and to install modern equipment within a very short period and under limited financing. We had to do it – otherwise, we would not be able to compete on the world market.

We faced problems that required quick solutions and we found them. As a result, we have launched a highly competitive and safe unit.

The launch of the unit is a great achievement and a good basis for new Russian NPP projects abroad.

This project is important for our power industry. The joint work of all of our power companies under the Tianwan project was the first step towards the goal declared by the President – a corporation that will bring us together and help us to win new markets in Russia and abroad.

The Tianwan project has shown that we can solve problems quickly and efficiently and that we are highly competitive. I believe that we have big prospects on the Chinese market and the meetings of our managers with their Chinese counterparts show that our cooperation is steadily growing.
