– The corporation will help us to effectively solve our tasks

The bill on the establishment of a state corporation for nuclear energy has been drafted on the instruction of President Putin. In his address to the Federal Assembly in Apr 2007 Putin suggested establishing a state corporation for uniting the civil and military sectors of Russia’s nuclear power industry. The corporation is to be established at the same time with Atomenergoprom by Jan 2008.

The corporation will help us to effectively solve our tasks. The most important thing is that the nuclear industry will remain in the hands of the state.

The corporation will comprise Atomenergoprom, nuclear weapons complex, fundamental science and nuclear and radiation safety agencies.

The corporation will function on the basis of a special federal law, like the Central Bank of Russia does.

State Corporation is non-commercial non-membership organization established through property contribution for execution of social, management and other public functions. State Corporation is established on the basis of a federal law and is the owner of the property given to it by the Government of the Russian Federation. It can do business only for attaining the goals it has been set up for.
