– No surprise that the MPs have approved the bills

The speech of Mr.Kiriyenko at State Duma and his joint report with the State Duma Committee on Nuclear Energy concerning the bill on the establishment of Rosatom state corporation were well-argumented and very detailed. No surprise that the MPs approved the bills.

Everybody was surprised at the position of the Communists, whose representative appeared with quite irrelevant remarks and said that his group would not approve the bill.

Nevertheless the bill received 380 votes “pro” and this is very good as few documents of such complex nature have so far enjoyed such unanimous support.

Most of the MPs realize that without centralized management it is hard to control an industry with several forms of ownership. The only solution is a state corporation acting on both Russian and world markets. We should develop nuclear industry, this is not just reality this is guarantee of our energy security in the future.

The second reading will obviously contain some revisions as lots of experts will be working on the bill in the coming weeks. But the general concept will survive and the bill will certainly be approved.
