4th unit of Leningrad NPP is under maintenance

Leningrad NPP: 4th unit is under maintenance

From Jan 15 till Jan 25 2009 the 4th unit of Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant is under maintenance on the request of the plant.

While being prepared for restart on Jan 22 at 08:20 PM the unit was stopped by the automatic protection system.

The incident is being investigated. The restart of the unit will be continued in line with the schedule.

Presently, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd units of Leningrad NPP are in operation.

The plant is operating safely and efficiently.

The radiation background at Leningrad NPP and in the nearby area is within norm.
