Dmitry Medvedev extended the lists of legal entities empowered to own nuclear materials and units

President of RF Dmitry Medvedev signed the decree supplementing the lists of the Russian legal entities empowered to own nuclear materials and nuclear units.

Pursuant to the decree Orlov Mining and Chemical Company and Gornoye Uranium-Mining Company in the Zabaikalye Territory, Lunnoye CJSC and Elkon Mining and Metallurgical Complex in Yakutia are included in these lists.

Lunnoye CJSC, incorporated by Atomredmetzoloto (ARMZ), the uranium holding, and Zoloto Seligrada OJSC on principles of parity is engaged in development of Lunnoye field. Its reserves are estimated as 800 tons of uranium and 13 tons of gold. After reaching of the rated capacity in 2016 the enterprise is expected to produce up to 100 tons of uranium and up to one ton of gold per year.

Elkon Mining and Metallurgical Complex CJSC, a subsidiary of ARMZ, is engaged in development of the project of Elkon Mining and Metallurgical Complex. The complex shall become the largest uranium-mining and enrichment enterprise in Russia producing about 5 thousand tons of natural uranium content in the form of protoxide-monoxide. Gornoye Uranium-mining Company CJSC was incorporated in 2007 to develop Gornoye and Berezovoye fields. The fields shall be developed by the combined technique with block and heap leaching. The rated capacity of the enterprise amounts to 600 tons of uranium per year. Orlov mining and chemical company was incorporated in 2007 to develop Orlovskoye field. Uranium ore open-cut and underground mining plant, heap leaching sites for ore processing, product solution processing and yellow cake production units are going to be constructed. The rated capacity of the enterprise amounts to 600 tons of uranium per year.
