International Scientific-Technical Conference “Safety of Nuclear Power Plants with WWER Type Reactors”

On May 26–29 2009 Hydropress EDB will be hosting the 6th International Scientific-Technical Conference “Safety of Nuclear Power Plants with WWER Type Reactors.” This conference is conducted at Hydropress once in two years with the participation of Rosatom and with the support of the International Atomic Energy Agency. Russian and foreign specialists take an active part in the event. Representatives of 11 countries attended the conference last time.

The conference discusses ways to ensure the efficient designing and the safe operation and decommissioning of nuclear power plants with WWER type reactors (pressurized water reactors).

The objective of the 6th conference is to organize an international forum for exchanging information and discussing the following subjects:

— Safe and efficient operation of nuclear power plants with WWER type reactors

— Theoretical and experimental justification of WWER type reactors

— Verification of computer programs for the purpose of safety

— Improvement of WWER type reactors for the purpose of safety

— Safe extension of the lives of WWER type reactors.

The Organizing Committee of the International Scientific-Technical Conference “Safety of Nuclear Power Plants with WWER Type Reactors” is inviting all concerned specialists to take part in the event.
